Lakeland’s Student Government Association leadership wants Lakeland’s students to know they have a voice.

The SGA has been hard at work, recently having its budget approved, brainstorming a campus-wide recycling initiative and volunteering time to help plan campus events like Essence of Heritage and Muskies Success Extravaganza.

Open forums, when students have the opportunity to meet with their SGA representatives and express concerns, will be regular events throughout the year.

The SGA will also offer info sessions, where they brief students on what they’re doing. There’s one scheduled for Feb. 28, during which the SGA will talk about a meeting they had with staff and faculty reps about communication. Another info session is scheduled for March 21.
